On Monday, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced ‘Google for India Digitization Fund’ at the company’s 6th edition of ‘Google For India’ event. Google will invest Rs. 75,000 crore ($10 Billion) in India for the next 5-7 years. Sundar Pichai said, “Google will use the funds through equity investments (CapitalG.), partnerships, operational and infrastructure ecosystem investments.” With this initiative, the company will focus on various aspects of digitization like using technology and AI for Indian needs in sectors like including health, education and agriculture for social good.
