West Bengal government has extended the restrictions implemented to arrest the spread of COVID-19 in the state till July 1. Addressing the media, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the extension date of restrictions along with some relaxations. She said that government and private institutions will open with 25% capacity. Shopping malls and complexes are allowed to open from 11 AM to 6 PM. It has also been decided to resume sports activities as well, but without spectators. Although, during this period, all educational institutions, waterways will remain shut in the state. West Bengal has recorded 1,403 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
