A fire broke out today in a firecracker factory near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. Confirming the incident, the Joint Director of Health Services, Virudhunagar said that six people have died in the accident. Firefighting operation is underway. Earlier on February 12, 23 people were killed in another fire accident in a firecracker factory in Virudhunagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Palaniswami had announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively to the families of the deceased.
