Supreme Court raps Kerala govt for relaxing COVID-19 restrictions on Bakrid

The Supreme Court has reprimanded the Kerala government for easing the COVID-19 restrictions on the occasion of Bakrid amid rising cases of Coronavirus in the state. The Supreme Court said that it was shocking that the Kerala government had accepted the demand of traders in relaxing the lockdown norms. The Kerala government had announced relaxation in the lockdown restrictions for three days, i.e., 18, 19 and 20 July in view of Bakrid. The Supreme Court ordered the Kerala government to follow the court’s same order in the Kanwar Yatra case in Uttar Pradesh.
