Amidst the decrease in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, the state government has announced relief in restrictions. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope today said that it has been decided to ease restrictions in 25 districts of the state, including Mumbai. In these districts, COVID-19 infection rate is below the state average. Talking to reporters, he said that the government is considering giving exemption to travel in local trains to those people who have received both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. However, more restrictions will be imposed in the remaining 11 districts, where the infection rate is relatively high.
