Rajasthan: 13 feared dead as boat carrying 40 overturns in Chambal river

At least 13 people are feared dead after a boat ferry carrying them overturned in Kota, Rajasthan on Wednesday. Over 40 people from Gothda Kala village were crossing the Chambal river on the illegal boat to visit Kamleshwar Dham in Bundi district. According to Kota District collector Ujjawal Singh Rathore, “About 20 of them swam to safety and 13 are feared dead; 11 bodies have been recovered so far”. Kota Police have filed an FIR against the boat owner under section 304A of the IPC.
