Puri Rath Yatra date announced by Odisha government, devotees not allowed to participate

Puri Rath Yatra will be held on July 12, but without the participation of devotees. The ‘Mahaprabhu Jagannath Ji Rath Yatra’ will be conducted in accordance with the COVID restrictions. Apart from Puri, the Rath Yatra will not be taken out at any other place in the state. Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep K Jena said that in view of the pandemic situation, the government has taken this decision for the safety of common people. He said, “Only COVID-19 negative and fully vaccinated servitors will be allowed to take part in the rituals.” On the day of Rath Yatra, bus and train movement to Puri will be stopped altogether.
