Police officer shot dead by militants in J-K’s Anantnag district

On Monday evening, a Jammu and Kashmir Police officer was shot dead by militants in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. According to J-K Police, the militants opened fire at Inspector Mohammad Ashraf in the Kenalwan area of the district. He was returning home after offering prayers when he was attacked. After which, he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. The area has now been cordoned off and additional forces are guarding and tracking the militants.
