Palghar’s redeveloped 4-storey building collapses, no casualty reported

On Wednesday, a four-storey building collapsed in Maharashtra’s Palghar district in Nalasopara. According to sources, 23 people miraculously escaped before the building collapsed. A local resident Rajesh Tiwari said, “There were five families with 25 people in the building. The moment we saw the construction material falling off from the walls, we immediately started the evacuation and saved lives.” The building was declared dangerous and unfit for residents by Virar Vasai Municipal Corporation (VVMC) in 2018.
