The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an orange alert for July 22 and 23 in Mumbai with heavy to very heavy rainfall warning at some places. Earlier, IMD had issued an orange alert for Wednesday (July 21), but it was upgraded to a red alert. Currently, no weather warning has been issued for July 24. IMD has also warned of widespread rainfall to occur over Konkan Coast and Goa in the next five days and heavy to very heavy over central Maharashtra in the next three days. Mumbai’s Colaba received 2.4 mm of rain between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM on Wednesday, while Santa Cruz received 2.6 mm of rain during the same period.
