Monsoon has arrived early in Mumbai, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Experiencing the first rain of the season, many parts of Mumbai including Chembur, Sion have become water-logged and railway tracks have also been flooded. In view of the possibility of heavy rains in the coming days, Railways has asked all relief trains and employees to be on alert. Amidst this, a high tide alert of 4.16 meters in the sea has been received today. IMD had earlier informed about the arrival of monsoon in Maharashtra on Saturday. At that time, it had reached Harnai port in the coastal Ratnagiri district.
