Major fire breaks out in a chemical factory near Pune, 12 killed

A major fire broke out claiming 12 lives on Monday evening in a chemical factory near Pune, Maharashtra. The fire department has brought the fire under control with the help of 8 fire tenders. The sanitizer-manufacturing factory, SVS Aqua Technologies is located in Urawade village in Pirangut near Pune. There were 37 employees, mostly women, on duty when the fire broke out around 4 PM. 20 people have been rescued by the fire department and 5 are still trapped inside. Search and rescue operation is underway and the cause of the fire is not known yet.
