Maharashtra: COVID-19 cases reach 1.80 lakh-mark with 8,053 deaths

Maharashtra recorded 5,537 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry. The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Maharashtra is inching closer to the 1.80 lakh-mark with 1,80,298 cases. The death toll in the state now stands at 8,053. Among the total cases, 93,154 patients have recovered so far. Mumbai has recorded 79,145 positive cases and 4,631 deaths. The number of total COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,04,641 with 17,834 deaths. On Monday, the Maharashtra government extended lockdown in the state till July end.
