Fire at South Mumbai Mall: 2 firemen injured, 3500 people evacuated from nearby building

A massive fire broke out at the City Centre mall located in the Nagpada area of South Mumbai. According to sources, the fire had escalated at level 1 at 8.53 pm on Thursday, later at level 5 by 2:41 am on Friday. Currently, the fire dousing operation is underway. At least 2 firemen got injured in the operation and over 3500 people were evacuated from a near-by 55-storey building in Mumbai. At least 24 fire engines, 16 jumbo tankers and 250 fire brigade personnel are at the spot to douse the fire.
