Extortion case filed against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh

An extortion case has been lodged against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh at Marine Drive Police Station. According to the Mumbai Police, a businessman had registered the complaint. A total of eight people have been named in the FIR, including six policemen. The police have so far arrested two civilians in this case. Meanwhile, action can also be taken against Singh for non-payment of rent for staying in an official apartment in Malabar Hills area when he was the police chief in Thane. Also, the Maharashtra government had recently approved to initiate an ACB probe against Singh in a corruption case.
