Within a week of the Tauktae Cyclone arising in the Arabian Sea and making landfall at Gujarat coast, the concern of the south-western states has increased due to the upcoming Cyclone Yaas in the Bay of Bengal. In view of this, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar are on high alert and all precautionary measures are being taken to lessen the impact of the cyclone on life and property. Some trains have also been cancelled as a measure. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Cyclone Yaas can cause strong winds at speeds of 155-165 kmph. Its impact will initially be seen in West Bengal and Odisha.
