COVID-19 pandemic: Lockdown in Kerala extended till May 30

Due to Coronavirus crisis, the Kerala government has extended the lockdown period in the state till May 30. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has stated that the triple lockdown will continue in Malappuram. However, triple lockdown in districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Thrissur will be removed from tomorrow due to low positivity rate and decrease in active cases. The Kerala government had implemented a triple lockdown from May 16 to May 23 in these four districts due to rising cases of COVID-19. The boundaries of these districts were also sealed to prevent the spread of the virus.
