An increase in cases of COVID-19 infection has been recorded in Maharashtra again. On Wednesday, more than 10,000 cases of infection were registered in the state while in the capital Mumbai, an increase of about 50% was recorded as compared to the last two days. In a meeting with officials, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the state health department to start preparations for the third wave of COVID-19. For the last two days, the number of patients in the state was within 10,000. But on Wednesday, 10,107 people were tested positive. The maximum number of 821 cases were found in Mumbai in the last 11 days. So far, a total of 59.3 lakh people have been found infected in the state.
