CM Uddhav Thackeray to meet PM Modi to discuss Maratha Reservation issue

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, accompanied by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. In the meeting, the CM and the Deputy CM will present the state’s side on the Maratha reservation and discuss the damage caused by the Yaas and Tauktae cyclone in the state. Earlier, the Supreme Court had cancelled the Maratha reservation. After which, CM Thackeray had written to PM Modi requesting him to take steps to declare the Maratha community in the state as a Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) so that they get at least 12% and 13% reservation in education and public employment.
