The Central government has sent its six-member high-level team to Kerala today. The team will visit ten districts in view of the sudden spurt in the cases of COVID-19 in the state. The team has reached Alappuzha on Saturday. Meanwhile, the state government has imposed a complete lockdown this weekend. An official told news agency ANI that the team will visit the worst affected, mainly southern and northern districts of the state, which are reporting more positive cases. A briefing with the state chief secretary and secretaries of various other departments will take place on August 2 after the visit.
