CBI arrests ex-HAL employee for illegally leasing company’s property

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an ex-Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) employee for illegal leasing of property. An employee, S Velmurugan had tried to lease 6.5-acre of land belonging to the state-run aircraft manufacturing company to a private firm in Bengaluru. The accused had worked as the deputy general manager in the research design center of HAL in Bengaluru. CBI has arrested him under charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy and the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988.
