Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he has directed the state police to withdraw the FIR lodged against Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena after the border clash with Mizoram police on July 26. In this dispute, six personnel of Assam Police were killed. However, he further said that the case against other police officers will not be withdrawn. He said Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga had expressed his desire to settle the border dispute amicably. Therefore, in order to take this goodwill forward, he has directed the Assam Police to withdraw the FIR.
