The border dispute between Assam and Mizoram suddenly flared again on Monday in which five Assam policemen were killed and 60 other policemen got injured in firing. During this, the Chief Ministers of both the states blamed each other’s state police for the violence and sought the intervention of Home Minister Amit Shah. He then spoke to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Mizoram CM Zoramthanga separately and asked them to ensure peace along the disputed border and find a solution. Many talks have taken place since 1995 to end the dispute between the two states but to no avail.
