Tokyo Olympics: Boxer Lovlina Borgohain confirms India’s second medal by reaching semi-finals

The Indian players performed very well on the seventh day of the Tokyo Olympics. In boxing, Lovlina Borgohain has assured at least a bronze medal in the 64 kg weight category. In the quarter-finals, she defeated Nien-Chin Chen 4-1 to reach the semi-finals. Earlier, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu had ensured India’s first medal in the Olympics. World number 1 archer Deepika Kumari confirmed her place in the quarter-finals of the individual event by defeating Ksenia Perova of ROC. Athlete Avinash Sable finished seventh in the heat 2 event in the first round of men’s 3000m steeplechase.
