Tokyo Olympics 2020: MC Mary Kom and Manpreet Singh lead Indian contingent

Tokyo Olympics 2020 has begun with great pomp and zeal on 23 July. The opening ceremony of the biggest sporting event started off with magnificent fireworks. The Greek contingent was the first to do the march-past. The Indian contingent did a march-past at number 21. India’s men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh and India’s boxing star MC Mary Kom were the flag bearers for the country. Last year, the Tokyo Olympics had to be postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak. This year, the Olympic games are being organized without spectators. Those killed due to COVID-19 were also remembered in the opening ceremony.
