Steve Waugh chosen as the greatest Test captain of the 21st century

Steve Waugh of Australia has been chosen as the greatest Test captain of the 21st century. In this list, he has been voted ahead of former South African captain Graeme Smith, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and current Indian Test team captain Virat Kohli. The announcement was made after lunch on the fifth day of the ongoing WTC final between India and New Zealand. Announcing the name, former Indian team captain Sunil Gavaskar said under Steve’s captaincy the Australian team was at the top for 46 weeks out of 48 weeks. Australia had won 16 consecutive Test matches under Steve’s captaincy.
