The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lifted the ban on former left-arm spinner Ankeet Chavan. He was banned from cricket in 2013 for his alleged involvement in the IPL spot-fixing case with S Sreesanth. However, now after almost 8 years, the ban has been lifted and now he can play competitive cricket. Ankeet Chavan himself confirmed the news and said that he received a mail from the Board on Tuesday evening, in which it has been said that the lifetime ban has been abolished. Last year, BCCI Ombudsman Justice (retd) DK Jain reduced the life sentence imposed by BCCI to seven years for both Sreesanth and Chavan.
