BCCI and IPL Governing Council postpone IPL 2021 season

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League has been postponed with immediate effect. This decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the Indian Premiere League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday as COVID-19 cases have increased within some of the teams. After Kolkata Knight Riders players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be COVID-19 positive, it was decided to postpone the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and KKR on 3rd May. Whereas, now Sunrisers Hyderabad’s wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals bowler Amit Mishra are also reported to be coronavirus infected.
