West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has filed an election petition in the Calcutta High Court against BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari and the it has been listed for hearing before a single bench on Friday. The hearing will be conducted through video conference before the court of Justice Kaushik Chand. The Election Commission had declared Adhikari the winner and TMC President Banerjee as the runner-up from Nandigram constituency in the elections. After the announcement of the results, CM Banerjee had alleged that the EVMs were tampered and the EC official had turned down the demand for recounting of votes. BJP MLA Adhikari is currently the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
