Expelled AIADMK leader VK Sasikala has been officially released from jail on Wednesday after the authorities completed the formalities. Currently, Sasikala is hospitalized in Victoria Hospital for the treatment of Coronavirus. She had tested positive for the infection a week ago. Sasikala, a close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, was lodged at the Central Jail in Parapanna Agrahara since February 2017 in a disproportionate assets case of Rs. 66 crore. Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute reported that Sasikala is in good health. However, the hospital authorities are still monitoring her condition.
