Sonia Gandhi requests PM Modi to take action over scarcity of Mucormycosis treatment drug

Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday and urged him to put Mucormycosis (Black Fungus Infection) under Ayushmaan Bharat Scheme and other health insurance products. She requested him to take action against the shortage of Liposomal Amphotericin-B drug used for the treatment of the fungal infection. She asked the central government to ensure adequate production and supply of medicines required for its treatment and treat patients free of cost. Earlier, she had asked the PM in her letter to provide free education to those children who have lost their parents to COVID-19.
