Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has resigned from his post today. He submitted his resignation to Governor Acharya Devvrat on Saturday. After the resignation, Rupani thanked PM Modi and said that he will fulfill the next responsibility that will be handed to him. A year before elections in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party will be appointing a new Chief Minister. Reportedly, Vijay Rupani and the BJP state president CR Patil had a rift between them. Vijay Rupani said after his resignation, “I want to thank BJP for giving me this opportunity to serve as Gujarat’s CM. During my tenure, I got the opportunity to add to the development of the state under PM Modi’s leadership.
