Congress President election further postponed due to COVID-19 situation

The election of the President of the Congress Party has been postponed once again. The Congress Working Committee has today decided to postpone the election due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. In the last working committee, the Central Election Authority had decided to hold elections on June 23. Now, the new date for the election will be announced later by the Central Election Authority. Rahul Gandhi had resigned from the post of president after the Congress party’s defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. After which, Sonia Gandhi was made the party’s interim president. But even after 2 years, the president of the party has not been elected.
