On Saturday, five security personnel were killed and about 15 got injured in an encounter with Naxals in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The incident took place in the forests of Jonaguda near Silger village, about 75 km from the district headquarters. The bodies of two Naxals were also reported to have been recovered from the spot of attack. Airforce helicopters and nine ambulances have been dispatched to evacuate the injured personnel. It is reported that the Naxals were preparing for a major attack in Bijapur or Sukma district. On March 24, a mob of Naxals was spotted around the Naxal-affected Tarrem Camp in Bijapur.
