16 out of 78 evacuees from Afghanistan test COVID-19 positive

Out of 78 people who returned from Afghanistan after Taliban occupation, 16 have been found to be COVID-19 positive. The three “granthis” who brought the Guru Granth Sahib copies have also been infected with coronavirus. Union Minister Hardeep Puri had also came in contact with the evacuees. Now, all the 78 people have been quarantined. On Tuesday, India brought back 78 people through an Air India flight from Dushanbe, Tajikistan, including 25 Indian nationals and many Afghan Sikhs and Hindus. A day earlier, they were airlifted from Kabul to Dushanbe by a military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
