Zydus Cadila’s COVID-19 vaccine’s emergency approval to take few more days

Amidst the speculations of the third possible wave of Coronavirus in the country, an indigenous vaccine is ready to be launched soon. According to reports, Zydus Cadila’s COVID-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D may get emergency use approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) in a few days. This three-dose DNA-based vaccine is effective on all people, including children aged 12 to 18 years. It is the world’s first DNA-based vaccine. The company has completed the Phase III trial of this vaccine. This week, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) will review the data submitted by Zydus at a meeting.
