Uttar Pradesh’s jail staff to wear body cameras on duty

On Thursday, President Ram Nath Kovind sanctioned a pilot project in which jail employees will have to wear body cameras. President approved this project in four states – Rajasthan, Telangana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (UP). President Kovind has signed an amount of Rs.80 lakhs for UP’s jails for this project. This will help in detecting violent criminal acts, drug addiction, suicide and prison security-related problems.
