A National Task Force has been constituted by the Supreme Court to look into the availability and distribution of medical oxygen on scientific, rational and equitable basis to the states across the country. This task force will also provide suggestions on the availability of essential medicines including the allocation of oxygen to the states and future preparedness to deal with COVID-19. The National Task Force will comprise ten well-known doctors, including Cabinet Secretary as the convenor and Health Secretary. It will be headed by Dr. Bhabatosh Biswas, former Vice Chancellor of West Bengal University of Health Sciences.
