Amarjit Sinha, adviser to PM Narendra Modi, has resigned on Monday. Sinha is a 1983 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer. In February 2020, he was appointed advisor to PM Modi. This is the second significant resignation from the PMO this year. Earlier in March, PK Sinha, the principal secretary to the Prime Minister had resigned. Sinha was appointed advisor after retiring as Secretary of Ministry of Rural Development. In a three decade long career, Sinha held key positions in the Ministry of Education and Panchayati Raj. He is an expert in rural development matters and has played important roles in schemes like National Rural Health Mission and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
