PM Modi pays tribute to Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his 100th death anniversary

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to India’s revolutionary freedom fighter, Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his 100th death anniversary on Twitter. He wrote: “India bows to Lokmanya Tilak on his 100th Punya Tithi. His intellect, courage, sense of justice and idea of Swaraj continue to inspire.” PM Modi also shared a video with some facets of Lokmanya Tilak’s life that the PM narrated during his ‘Mann ki Baat’ radio show. Lokmanya Tilak had penned the very famous slogan “Swarajya is my birthright and I shall have it!” during the Swarajya (self-rule) movement for Independence.
