INS Kavaratti to commission as new anti-submarine warship in Indian Navy today

On Thursday, Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane will be commissioning the new anti-submarine warfare (ASW) ship – INS Kavaratti at the Indian Navy‘s Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam. The new INS Kavaratti has been named after the old INS Kavaratti, which is an Arnala class missile corvette. It has up to 90% indigenous content. This warship was built under ‘Project 28’ which has three other warships – INS Kamorta (commissioned in 2014), INS Kadmatt (2016) and INS Kiltan (2017).
