India: COVID-19 cases cross 5.6 lakh- mark with 16,893 deaths

India witnessed the biggest spike of 18,522 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has crossed the 5.66 lakh-mark with 5,66,840 cases. The death toll in the country now stands at 16,893. Among the total cases, 2,15,125 are active and 3.34 lakh patients have recovered from the disease. Maharashtra still remains the worst-affected state in the country with 1,69,883 cases and 7,610 deaths. Delhi has recorded 85,161 total cases so far. Tamil Nadu and Gujarat have reported 86,224 and 32,023 positive cases respectively.
