Health Ministry: Registration on CoWIN not mandatory for COVID-19 vaccination

In order to increase the pace of vaccination against COVID-19, the Union Health Ministry has eased the process of vaccination. The Ministry said that now online registration on the CoWIN app or website will no longer be mandatory to take the coronavirus vaccine by people above the age of 18. According to the government, any person can go to the nearest vaccination center and get registered on-site and get the vaccine dose. To speed up the vaccination process, health workers and ASHA workers will inform about on-site registration for vaccine in rural areas and urban slums. So far, more than 26 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country.
