Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s Tejas fighter jet took its maiden flight in Bengaluru yesterday. HAL has notified in a press statement that the aircraft was flown by a retired air Commodore K.A. Muthana from the HAL Airport. The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas took its first flight for 40 minutes. HAL is planning to produce 15 more fighter jets of the Final Operational Clearance (FOC) standard and deliver it to the Indian Air Force by next year.
