Chief Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat announced a new policy of staggering obtainment for buying 114 fighter aircrafts for Indian Air Force(IAF). General Rawat quoted that the platforms of the military will gain rapid action with the new technology. He also made a proposal of buying 36 Rafale jets from French Military Forces. The tender to buy 114 jets in last year costed $18 billion to the IAF. The deal also includes various jets such as Lockheed’s F-21, Boeing F/A-18, Dassault Aviation’s Rafale, Russian aircraft MIG 35 and Saab’s Gripen.
