Amarnath Yatra cancelled due to coronavirus pandemic

For the second consecutive year, the government has decided to cancel the Amarnath Yatra. Earlier in 2020, Amarnath Yatra was canceled due to Coronavirus pandemic. Giving information about the cancellation of Amarnath Yatra, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha said that it is important to protect the lives of the people, therefore this decision has been taken after discussion with the members of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. However, all religious rituals will be conducted at the Amarnath cave, which has been a tradition. He has ordered officials to make arrangements for devotees so that they can attend the morning and evening ‘aartis’ virtually.
