AIIMS Director: No serious COVID-19 infection in children in the future

AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria, in a press conference on the status of coronavirus and vaccination in the country, said that no global or Indian study has indicated so far that there has been serious COVID-19 infection cases in children. In fact, even in the second wave, infected kids only had mild illness. He said, “I don’t think we will have a serious infection in children in the future.” NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul informed that the government has ordered to procure 25 crore doses of Covishield and 19 crore doses of Covaxin. The government has also ordered to procure 30 crore doses of Biological E’s Corbevax vaccine, which will be available by September.
