Amidst the speculations of third wave of COVID-19, once again the number of new cases is increasing in the country. A surge of more than 13 thousand was registered in new cases on Wednesday as compared to Tuesday. 43,654 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in India in the last 24 hours, after which the number of infected people has increased to 3,14,84,605. During this period, the death toll has increased to 4,22,022 after the death of 640 more people. The number of active cases in the country has reached 3,99,436, an increase of 1,336 during the 24-hour period. Of the 640 new deaths, 254 are from Maharashtra, 156 from Kerala and 60 in Odisha.
