On Thursday, the Mayor of Rochester city in New York suspended seven police officers responsible for the death of a black man due to suffocation. Mayor Lovely Warren announced the suspensions at a news conference after facing criticism for keeping quiet about Prude’s death for 6 months. On March 30, a black man, Daniel Prude was found running naked through the streets of a western New York City by police. The officers caught him and put a spit hood over his head, then pressed his face into the pavement for two minutes. Later, he died due to asphyxiation.
