On Friday, the Philippines government extended the ongoing travel ban for all incoming travelers from India and nine other countries until August 15 to prevent the spread of the highly contagious delta variant of COVID-19. The extension of travel restrictions has been ordered to prevent further spread and community transmission of the COVID-19 variant in the Philippines. The nine other countries apart from India are Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. However, the Philippines has allowed the return of foreign workers under its repatriation program. They will be isolated for 14 days upon arrival.
